PRESIDENT & CEO

As the founder, President, and CEO of SabrTech, Mather leads the team to develop solutions for the future. In his role, Mather builds partnerships with leading thinkers to explore the unparalleled potential of algae to address global challenges. Mather has founded start-ups across multiple sectors including biotech, agritech, cleantech, IoT, life sciences and biopharma. His expertise ranges from machine learning, modeling complex socio-economic and business systems, temporally and spatially integrated networks, non-linear bioenergetics modeling, biological behavior, data analytics and visualization, in addition to extensive leadership experience managing teams of 30+ involving multi-national corporations.

In addition to founding start-ups, Mather has spent the last 11 years facilitating the growth and expansion of companies within the energy, water, transportation and sustainability domains where he leads the development of business strategies for new and existing products, models fuel, feed and food production, and waste remediation. Additionally, Mather had spearheaded the development of precision aqua-/alga-/agri-culture hardware which overlap with Internet of Things including 1) remote sensors, 2) precision data, and 4) biological mapping.

Mather has technical expertise in Python, machine learning, neural networks, natural language processing, optical character recognition, network theory, data ingestion, MySQL, MS SQL, R, C/C++, VB, MATLAB, PowerBi, Tableau, advanced statistics including; linear and non-linear regression, cluster analysis, nMDS, FA, and PCA, and is also proficient in biological networks, complexity theory, non-linear bioenergetic modeling, biological behavior, data visualization, data mining, ordination, and outlier detection.

Mather holds a PhD in Computational Ecology from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada. He also holds a degree in Marine Biology and Applied Mathematics from the same university. Mather’s innovative developments in the field of algae research have been recognized, among others, with the International CleanTech Open award by Innovacorp, the Nova Scotia Emerging professional award, the Fish 2.0 Track A award for the business with the greatest potential for social and environmental impact, and SWSX Eco Agri-Food 1st place winner.
